Greg Wins Big in East Yorks
In the 2019 General Election campaign Sir Greg Knight was re-elected as Member of Parliament for East Yorkshire. He has thanked local residents for re-electing him with an increased majority.
Sir Greg was first elected as MP for the constituency in 2001 and has increased his majority at every subsequent election. In this General Election he secured 33,988 votes. The Labour candidate came second with 11,201 votes.

Sir Greg Knight (Conservative Party): 33,988
Labour Party Candidate: 11,201
Liberal Democrat Candidate: 4,219
Yorkshire Party Candidate: 1,686
Green Party Candidate: 1,675
Majority: 22,787
Greg achieved 64% of the vote. Speaking after the result was announced he said: “I am both honoured and humbled to receive this level of support particularly as the swing to my party is higher than in adjoining seats. The people of East Yorkshire have sent a very clear message, backing responsible economic management and voting to get Brexit done”.
