Knight Praises Innovative Driffield Business

Sir Greg has paid a fact-finding visit to Despatch Cloud, an East Yorkshire business working with online retailers across the UK to streamline their operations.

Sir Greg visited the company, based in Driffield, at the invitation of company boss and founder Matthew Dunne, to see for himself details of their innovative operation.  

Despatch Cloud offers a subscription-based eCommerce platform allowing online retailers to run their operations efficiently, integrating with platforms including Amazon, PayPal, eBay and many others. The company software also enables their customers to control inventory, build a reliable online operation and it automatically updates the stock levels on websites, so there is no risk of overselling.

Sir Greg said: “With the boom in online shopping particularly over the last two years Despatch Cloud is an excellent example of a pioneering local company here in Driffield. Online retailers and their customers up and down the country are having their lives made easier and their shopping process simplified as a result of Despatch Cloud’s programme”.

Greg adds: “The success of this company is also evidence that in 2022 new businesses do not need to locate in busy city centre sites. Digital technology means that more desirable rural and semi-rural locations, where office space is affordable and car parking is plentiful, are a more attractive option available at lower cost.  No longer do companies like this need to be based in big, overcrowded cities with long commutes for their staff. They can establish themselves and thrive in towns like Driffield, surrounded by picturesque countryside
